DIY Hair Care Tips during Quarantine

However, almost all salons are closed during the lockdown or quarantine period. You might need to improvise and do your hair care regimen at home, by yourself.

Hair Care Tips You Can Do at Home

Because all salons are closed at this time, you’ve to rely on your products that you have already bought prior to lockdown. In case you run out of hair shampoo or conditioner, there are a few you can use as alternatives. The quarantine period is the perfect time to try DIY hair care tips because you will have so much time in your hands.

Here are some DIY hair care tips that you can consider at home.

Use baking soda and vinegar scrub to treat your scalp.

When residue, oil, and dirt combine, they can make your scalp itchy and flaky. This is the perfect time to treat your scalp with a DIY baking soda hair scrub. Baking soda is a well-known cleaning agent that effectively strips away oil, dirt, and product build-up. For every 1 part of baking soda, you can mix it with 3 parts of cold water.

Gently apply the baking soda scrub to your hair and let it sit for 3 minutes. Afterwards, you can shampoo your hair to remove the product and then treat it with an apple cider vinegar solution ( 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water).

Use an egg white mask to strengthen your hair.

Egg whites contain protein that can make your hair stronger and can alleviate hair loss. To make an egg white mask, separate the egg whites, and add coconut oil. Mix thoroughly and apply to your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash and shampoo your hair after.

Apply a coconut oil mask to moisturize your hair…

Coconut oil is a known moisturizing ingredient frequently used in beauty products. You can make your own coconut oil mask to moisturize and protect your hair. Simply apply a modest amount of coconut oil on your hair and wear a shower cap. Leave it on for a few hours or overnight. Wash and shampoo your hair after.

Or an avocado mask.

Avocado, a fatty and vitamin-filled fruit, is a great natural hair moisturizer. Mix avocado with egg and olive and apply to dry hair for a nourishing hair mask. For a hair mask targeted for dry, itchy scalp, you can mix avocado with lemon juice and olive oil for an anti-fungal, moisturizing hair mask.

Pamper your scalp with an aloe vera treatment.

Aloe vera is considered a miracle plant, an all-around cure because of its amazing healing and rejuvenating properties. You can apply the aloe vera extract straight from the plant to your hair and scalp. But if you want a luxurious hair treatment, mix aloe vera with some coconut oil and apply to your hair for a up to 1 hour before washing it off.

Go Lighter for Summer Without Fear with Olaplex!

Summer is here, and what better time to go lighter and blonder with your hair? Whether you want to brighten up with a balayage or a foil highlight or want to be blonde all over with a double-process. You can do so without fear of breakage or harsh damage by using an Olaplex hair color salon for your service.

Olaplex Step #1, which can be used either mixed with the lightener used for your service or done alone as a treatment. It is what is known as a “bond multiplier”. When you color hair, the bonds that hold your hair together get broken. This can lead to damaged or broken hair. We are thrilled to announce that we have added two new members to the Amaci Salon family, Adam Alhalawani and Sarah Martin have joined the team, and are available for appointments now!
Sarah Martin, a Boston native, has been a stylist for over 7 years. She has a passion for dimensional color and precision haircuts. Sarah has been extensively trained in free-hand balayage, extensions (sewn and bonded), Matrix and several other professional color lines, and extensive styling techniques. She personalizes each service so each client leaves comfortable and happy with their hair!

Adam Alhalawani, originally from Lebanon, can offer you a custom look that will compliment your own personal style. He has over 20 years of experience in the salon business. He specializes in updo’s, hair styling, hair color and makeup for everyday, or weddings and special occasions. From the most natural to the most sophisticated, he will ensure that you feel beautiful every day! Adam perfected his technique in Boston, but has worked in Dubai, Lebanon, and many Arab countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar) doing hair and makeup for weddings and events.
